Success Story – Oct – Mrs. Rubye Hill
Please join us in celebrating the success of Mrs. Rubye Hill. She came to us after a fall, resulting in a left femur fracture. Upon admission Mrs. Hill required moderate assistance for bathing, lower body dressing and transfers; maximal assistance with toileting task and could only ambulate 5 feet with minimal assistance. After pushing herself to participate in our wonderful therapy program for just 3 weeks, she was able to return back to her home safely
Success Story – Sept – Mildred Boyke
Please join us in celebrating the success of Mrs. Mildred Boyke. Mrs. Boyke was living alone enjoying retirement when she started having multiple falls resulting in hospitalization.
She admitted to Oakbrook Health and Rehab for additional rehab to regain her strength and safety. Ms. Boyke has such a positive outlook and determination to get better to return home and get back to her normal routine. Though she isn’t quite ready to return home alone just yet, she is making huge gains throughout her rehab stay and is a motivator for other patients as well. Ms. Boyke can complete her daily tasks with supervisor and close contact for safety.
Success Story – Aug – Alvin Jenkins
Please join us in celebrating the success of Mr. Alvin Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins came to us due to viral encephalitis and a stage 4 sacral wound. Due to his lengthy hospital stay Mr. Jenkins returned to Oakbrook and participated in a 7-week therapy program to regain his strength and mobility. After much hard work and dedication, he has achieved his goals and is able to get back out into the facility greeting staff and patients.
Success Story – July – Lushen Evans
We are excited to celebrate the success of Mr. Lushen Evans. Mr. Evans had an extensive hospital stay resulting in open heart surgery with many setbacks along the way. Upon admission he needed extensive help for all his daily activities. After 4 weeks of hard work and dedication Mr. Evans was able to return home to his wife.
Success Story – June – Ms. Baechtold
Ms. Baechtold lived independently in a single-story home with her husband and daughter where she enjoyed cooking and gardening prior to her fall resulting in a fracture of her right leg. After two weeks of physical and occupational therapy Ms. Baechtold was able to complete her daily tasks with supervision and safely navigate from bed to chair. She was able to safely discharge home with her loving husband and daughter to continue with home health services to regain her strength.
